Eva Mendes thanks hypnotism for helping her with her spider phobia. The sexy actress confessed that a year ago it was unbearable for her to be in the same room as even the smallest arachnid. She said, “Ever since I was a little girl if I saw one, it would be a physical reaction and I’d freak out. If I saw one I’d have to have somebody kill it and then I couldn’t take their word for it, I had to see the dead carcass. It was getting in the way and if I’d see one in the room at night... and someone couldn’t get to it and it kind of got lost, I couldn’t fall asleep in the room... It was psycho territory.” So she decided to visit hypnotist, she recalled the experience, “You lie down, you relax and then she takes you through this kind of relaxation thing and then the cool thing is you think it’s only three minutes and then the whole hour went by. I don’t know what she did in there but it’s helped.
Eva to show her dangerous curves for The Spirit - 2007-09-21
Eva Mendes has signed on to star in Frank Miller's The Spirit. The sultry actress has joined the cast that already included the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, and Gabriel Macht. Mendes will perform "a beauty with dangerous curves." The movie is based on Will Eisner’s book and is set to begin filming in October for a 2009 release.

Eva Mendes admits kangaroo tail is the worst thing she has ever eaten. The Hitch actress tested the traditional Aboriginal cuisine while she was in Australia shooting her new flim 'Ghost Rider', and took the courage to try vary delicacies she was offered.
"I went to the Outback and I met some beautiful Aboriginal women and we went out on a women's day. They said, 'We'll take you and you can share our experience, and you can buy us a beer and some kangaroo tails, British magazine Empire quoted her as saying."Funnily enough, you can buy both at gas stations out there. We also had some witchety grubs. They're big, fat worms, basically, that freeze in the branches of trees". She adds, "They're gooey and fat and big and they were dessert and the kangaroo tails were the dinner. It was the worst thing I'd ever eaten and the most unusual."
